IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE WHO MIGHT CONSIDER DONATING A HEALTHY COMPATIBLE KIDNEY TO REVEREND TUCKER AT THIS TIME, PLEASE CONTACT US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Bobby and Mary Tucker Reverend Tucker lives in Lanett, Alabama. This page is posted with a very heavy heart, in hopes that someone reading this can assist me in making a public appeal for a friend named Reverend Bobby Tucker who is praying in faith, that someone’s heart will be touched to donate him a kidney before the end of this year (2007).
The reason why my heart is so heavy is because earlier tonight, I spoke on the phone with Reverend Tucker’s wife, Mary, and she said to me, “At this moment, “You are our only ally.”
It places a tremendous weight upon a little-known person like me, for someone to put so much faith and confidence in my ability to make something so important happen for them. That is why I am posting this web page.
We first encountered the Tuckers in April of this year, because of our publication a small, new weekly newspaper called The People’s Voice. We are very new, just a few months into our 3rd year. Our circulation is small. In April, we were led to the Tuckers, and published an article in The People's Voice about Reverend Tucker’s journey with kidney failure. Many people complimented us about the article, and the Tuckers were very grateful. They are a beautiful and loving couple, with children. They believe so strongly that he will get the kidney he so desperately wants. Although our news article resonated with many people, it did not reach enough people to really have the impact we had hoped for.
But, what this article did do was touch our hearts, and draw us closer to their plight, because we realize it could be any of us in the same situation, with the same need.
Several months after that first article appeared, the Steel Workers magazine picked up the story, but they did not do an indepth article as I had published.
Mary Tucker is a phenomenal woman, who has stood by her man, and is doing everything possible to make this happen. The amazing thing about the Tuckers, is that throughout Reverend Tucker’s ordeal, he still ministers to the sick at the East Alabama Cancer Clinic. It’s amazing, how he has held fast to his faith that a kidney will come.
In the months since Reverend Tucker’s diagnosis, he has continued to believe and hope for a donor. But, naturally, with the passing months, and all the challenges he faces because of his kidney failure, he is of course praying for a quick resolution so that his body will be strong enough to go through the transplant, and accept the kidney.
Mrs. Tucker told us that when they recently visited the Transplant Center in Birmingham, their counselor said, “You need to work a little harder, talk to more newspapers.”
I am sure you realize that some issues are just not picked up quickly by mainstream news media, and then, when they are, they don’t necessarily get the coverage they deserve.
So, we are praying that if there is anything that anyone out there can do to help us further our outreach, in letting others know about Reverend Tucker’s plight, please, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Reverend Bobby Tucker’s contact information appears below. We want so much for this to happen. I know that if I were in the same position, I would certainly want someone to be rooting and praying and working for me.
Reverend Bobby Tucker is Type A, and any donor would have to be Type A or O. The Tuckers can be reached in Lanett, Alabama at: (334) 576-3721 Page Created By Charlotte A. Clark-Frieson, co-founder, The People's Voice Weekly News Powered by WebRing®. |
